This component is NOT recommended for use when creating accessible courses.

The Social Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) component is an interactive component that lets you evaluate your learner’s answer against one or more mock answers. The question results are displayed as a results chart.

Note: In order to ensure a secure platform, Evolve no longer supports the Firebase integration that displayed the responses submitted by other learners.

Component overview


The Social MCQ component is highly configurable and fully responsive.

Component set up


To add this component, follow the steps in this article:

The Property Panel for the newly added component will then open automatically for you to customize set-up.

Or click anywhere on an existing component to open the Property Panel.


General section

In the General section:

Add Title, or a Display Title, as needed. Display Title is seen by learners.

Scroll down to add your Body. Use the text editor to style and format your text, as needed.

  1. Add Instruction Text that tells users how to use the component.
  2. Include an ARIA Label for screen readers, as needed.

Interaction Label section

In the Interaction Label section, you can enable an Interaction Label.

The Interaction Label allows you to add a widget before or after the Social MCQ component. This widget can display an icon and label prior to the Social MCQ component completion, which changes to a different icon and label once the Social MCQ component is completed.


Results Chart section

In the Results Chart section, you can add a Results Label that will appear above the results chart.


Appearance section

In the Appearance section, you can set if the Results Label is displayed as Plain Text and if it's displayed as Full Width. The Results Label can't be displayed as Full Width if it's displayed as Plain Text.

Add Answers


In the Answers section, you Add Answers to your Social MCQ component.

For each Answer:

  1. Enter Answer Text.
  2. Enter Option Text that will display before the item and on the results chart.
  3. Select an Option Background & Chart Color, as needed.
  4. Select an Option Text Color, as needed.
  5. Add a Mock Result number. When the learner selects an answer, a value of 1 is added to the Mock Result value of said answer. The Mock Result value is 0 by default.

Add, duplicate, or delete items as needed.

Below are examples of the Social MCQ component:

Example 1 – displays Social MCQ Question with three alternative Answer Items and one selectable answer.

Example 2 – displays results chart, placed below the Social MCQ component.
