Preview an Evolve Course
Outline
When creating your courses in Evolve, you can quickly and easily view your course and any changes made. This article provides an overview of how you can live preview content, pause live preview mode, and use the Quick Preview feature.
Live Preview
Once you are editing a course, you will see a blue Live Preview button in the top right corner. Click this button to open a preview of your course in a new window.
A new window will open with a live preview of your course.
Any changes made in the editor will automatically appear in the live preview window. As a result, you do not need to refresh the page for changes to appear.
To quickly view pages, articles, blocks, and components in Live Preview, select the item you wish to preview and click the blue Eye icon, Show In Preview. In the live preview screen, the course will now show the item on the screen.
Pause Live Preview
When you’re reviewing a course, you might want to pause Live Preview updates so you aren’t interrupted with the preview updating while others are editing the course.
You can do this by following these steps:
- Open Live Preview.
- Select the three dot icon to the right of the course title at the top of the page to open the Live Preview additional settings.
- Click Pause Updates.
Any updates being made in the course while you have paused live preview will not appear until you click Pause Updates again. Additionally, any updates made during this time will appear automatically once un-paused.
Quick Preview
If you wish to preview your course without opening Live Preview, you can instead toggle on Quick Preview in the top right of your course. The Quick Preview will replace your usual course view and will not open in a new window.
In Quick Preview, you can scroll through your course and select the different pages, articles, blocks, and components which will be highlighted when you move your cursor over them. Selecting an item will open its settings to the right of the course.
Toggle off Quick Preview when you wish to return to the usual course view.
